Covid and emotional issues

If I have had one year of learning that has marked my life, although I never thought I would say so, it is this year, 2020.

If I have known myself emotionally I can also say that I did it during this year, if I have given importance to mental health, it was in this year.

I am Santiago Vasquez, a young man of 21 years old from Medellin, Colombia. My life before the COVID was "normal". Going out was so necessary for me to fill some emotional gaps that until now I discover and thanks to the confinement I have worked on them.

as a social person, being alone is a nightmare, but there are moments like the ones we went through during the quarantine when being alone is a reality and we have to learn to live with this, because we have to have a self-knowledge. if you don't learn to be alone, you will never be able to love yourself and give yourself your place. although this doesn't mean that we have to become asocial, relating is one of the best things we have as humans. it is just learning and I know that many people are affected by this as I am.

it was difficult at first when i went through a stage where i could not see the reason for this, that the monotony and the days seemed the same to me. i could not make sense of it. but i realised that mental health is not something crazy. as humans you have to pay attention to it. being treated psychologically (virtually) was the best thing that could have happened to me. meeting me during this confinement made me more aware. life always triumphs.
